I give this a thumbs up because it is important for music students to know some of American classic literature. I'm a purist, so some of the rhythm is TO ME unnecessary and seems to be designed to keep the kids' interest. Overall, though, I do like what Ed Lojeski did with a difficult score and made it so, I think, it both keeps the integrity of the music and probably introduces students to this profoundly amazing opera. I have to say, though, that this solidifies my thought "Porgy and Bess" should never be attempted by an all-white cast. And I'm white, OK? The sound that Gershwin wrote for (and achieved) just isn't there. However, I think you've done a great service to schools and community choruses by publishing this medley.
