Just wanted to say thank you and bless you for what you have done with your enlightened me! I watched your videos and it completely changed the way I thought about soil and gardening - I had many 'ah hah' for putting so much effort into your presentations and really caring about explaining it well to people. You could make a video every day about just what you are doing and I would watch them all!!!!

Mark another great video as always. I am learning so much from you! I am eternally grateful to have found your channel. Have been binge watching, almost got them all in once. They will be repeated. I sit hear in upper Michigan with 4 feet of snow on my bare soil garden and have been trying to plan how I'm going to incorporate roots in the ground along with covering my soil. I have tons of leaves and composting site quater mile away that provides wood chips to the public. This video came at a great time to help me plan 2020 garden. Thanks to you I'm very optimistic, and looking forward to (my) new way of gardening. Thank you for sharing!

I'm planting Alaska Early peas here in 7a, and experimenting with an ecto/arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculate blend - about 5 days back, I mixed up a dose with a gallon of water, and added a few handfuls of cracked corn to another gallon, heat pasteurized it (the corn), and stirred that in .. now, I have a bucket with 2 gallons of water, milky-white with mycellium that I can spread throughout the garden. I'm considering saving a portion of it, expanding with more water, and feeding it again, to see if I can keep the culture going, like a sourdough starter!

I just ordered a cover crop mix for my backyard garden. We have several resource concerns so we are going to stick with the no till/cover crop method to address those concerns. Keep up the good work, Mark!

Great timing with this video. I was think of planting field peas before I plant potatoes. Your advise to plant peas with the potato works great. So I thought if I plant peas ahead of the potatoes I might get a jump on soil health. Now, you have given me even more ideas. And great idea to use a more tasty pea for your cover crop. Thanks Mark.

Just what I needed! I’m late to the party so I’m scrambling to get some roots in the ground. The peas will work perfectly here too. Thank you.

Thank you so much this was so helpful since I did not plant a cover crop. I have been searching for a cover crop to grow. I have a big garden 1. what other cover crops can I plant in the spring? 2. Do I cut the snap peas down when I eat the peas, should i cut them down when they flower to maximize nitrogen? 3. what other cover crop do i follow with with the crops in the summer?

Even if you don't want to wait for the pea pods to form you can still get a harvest from a pea cover. Charles Dowding has a video on peas where he plants some just for "shoots". I have taken to taking a few pea shoots and even faba bean leaves for my salads. Don't forget to sacrifice a few radish, beets, and peas for leaves to add to your lettuces for a more tasty salad.
