I for "ee" is a good tip. We also tend to get this sound for words borrowed from Italian, where it´s also pronounced the same way, such as spaghetti, ravioli, and tiramisu!

Dropping the 'H' is just like we do in Liverpool, so it was very easy for me to do. People in the Algarve are actually scousers. 😁😁 They also say 'bem bom' in portuguese which translates as 'well good' in English. Also sounds very Scouse!

We definitely have a dark L in English, but only in post-vocalic position, like in "bell" (if you pronounce that English word with a "bright" L, you sound French! 😂) In Portuguese we have to learn to make it, for example, in word-initial position also, which for most English speakers is not natural.

I need a tip for a M at the end of words - for example: sim / tem / homem. Some people say its unpronounced, others that its like an "ing" in (British) English.

I speak very clearly and with a good accent, and unfortunately the Portuguese still try to speak with me in English. all. the. time. It's frustrating but gosto tanto da língua portuguesa que eu persisto!
