PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND S/S 2011 FASHION SHOW - VIDEO BY XXXX MAGAZINE
Pringle of Scotland designer Clare Waight Keller describers her collection as a harmony between two contradicting factors of femininity: the childish and the intelligent."Sometimes you have one of those days when you want to look really chic... and then other days you kind of want a bit of frill." The ultra modern aesthetic of Pringle translates into effortless chic. There were sharply tailored minimal pieces, coats and vests with short fringes and ribbon incorporated into silk sweaters. Beautifully styled and presented at the Science Museum in SW7. Pre-show we sipped champagne while viewing the fashion film created for Pringle by the contemporary artist and photographer, Ryan McGinley, with one of my favorite actresses, Tilda Swinton.

PAM HOGG S/S 2011 FASHION SHOW - VIDEO BY XXXX MAGAZINE
The self-taught Scottish-born designer, Pam Hogg, showed a collection that displayed Britain's famous fashion eccentricity. The collection is full of drama with designs that exude the essence of punk from the eighties. The show opened with anticipation, as model Alice Dellal stomped down the runway topless, wearing little more than the animal-skin drum she was beating. Always one not afraid to shock, Hogg later had a model completely naked adorned with some nipple garnishing and a daring chastity belt. Inspiration was slightly primitive and very futuristic, think David Bowie's Space Oddity mixed with Barbarella. We saw a lot of metallic body suits, constructed body suits with dramatic belted elements juxtaposed with body revealing skin tight numbers. Always a brilliant show!
