Why Some Scientists Predict Comets Might End The World

If it's not enough for you living through a potential apocalypse event, let's take some time to discuss another one: a comet striking the Earth from outer space! Small cosmic projectiles hit the Earth all the time, but they're rarely massive enough to cause more than a localized shake-up. That would not be the case for an object more than a couple of miles in diameter, and that's exactly the sort of object that killed the dinosaurs all those millions of years ago. It's not a question of if but when such a space rock will find its way to our planet, so how are we preparing ourselves? This is why some scientists predict comets might end the world.
