This question is for the New York viewers. I've read the New York statute that deals with replacing elected officials who vacate their position before the end of their term. Because Elise Stefanik was just re-elected 6 days ago and would vacate her position upon her nomination being approved by the Senate, I believe that New York will be required to hold a special election to fill the vacated position. Please correct me, if I have misunderstood the statute. It was rather confusing to read.
