The new one is almost the same as old one, but they removed one straight line on middle of bottom, and removed a curve around "Aston Martin". Also they made lines a little bit thicker and a bottom line a little bit smoother

I thought It didn’t change, but after looking it up the old was definitely more elegant. The u makes it feel more connected, the center line gives a good reference point for the eye, and the thinner lines and smaller name work to make it feel less like a corporate logo and more like an ornament, like on a Bentley. Generally the old one is a more elegant and strong design.

It's exactly the same as the old one with slightly larger letters and thicker lines, nothing radical, which is good.

Logic behind the redesign makes sense to me. Well done. Process question: is that just green and white paint poured in as filling that's left to dry, and then filed/polished? Or is it some other material?

Oversimplified to appeal to Gen X types. The 80s one was better. The font type used doesn't portray class and sophistication, it's too simple.
