"the attacker is homeless" has become the standard line of "case closed" in CA

That's so sad that someone who had dedicated her life to helping others met such a tragic end. RIP Sandra.

What’s tragic is almost nothing is being done addressing the problem with the homeless.
Mental health, support, criminality.

I’m sure she worked through out this whole pandemic. She was a hero!! RIP Sandra. My sincere and deepest condolences to the family. 😣

This is a tragic loss for this community. We need to get our mental health institutions open again to treat and house people who have issues that pose a dangerous threat and safety risk to society. We must make sure our neighborhoods are safe and free from those who would cause harm to family friends and neighbors.

She was 70 years old and worked as a nurse through the past two years of the pandemic, she was heroic. Worked her entire life only to have her life taken by a homeless man. I recall telling a female client worked in that area to be very, very careful. That is one block from the Los Angeles County Jail. Every night they release hundreds of felons, many join the homeless population in the area. Violent crime is rampant.

California needs to put all the homeless people to do community service and get they life together otherwise put them in camps for the safety of other people.

So what's the DA going to do about this? Nothing.

38 years of dedication to others, just to have her life end in a blink of an eye, at the hands of corrupt politicians defunding the police and putting public security at the bottom of their priorities. May she Rest In Peace.

This should greenlight encampment clearances and homeless sweeps.

If this homeless man don’t get life in prison with no parole the system is bullshit

Wow that's absolutely tragic. She worked during the pandemic, especially at her age, risking her life everyday, all for her life to be cut short by some bum. And she dedicated basically 40 yrs of her profession saving lives. Someone should push the homeless man into oncoming traffic

This special person donated 38 years of her life in service of her fellow human beings. She did this out of abundance of love and compassion for others, and this is the way she finds her end? This is the way we treat our heroes, and our elderly? What is happening to us, and what does this say about our society? If the death of this amazing lady doesn't touch your heart, it might mean that you have none. RIP Ms. Shells. If heaven exists, I am sure it's made for people like you

Boy to fight through these last two years of COVID nursing the sick than to die from an act of violence is unspeakable..r.i.p. my hero

That guy isn't crazy. He is acting like he is to play the game. He can get off this way. Such a horrific way to die. Being shot is more of a luxury. To be pushed to an oncoming train is just horrific.

Sad that los Angeles has become a terrible, dangerous place to live & it's only getting worse. Bless the nurse who spent her life helping people only to become murdered at a bus stop. 💜🙏
