My old Mittens loved watermelon. Not so much to eat, but she loved drinking the water from it. She also enjoyed cantaloupe and other fruits and breads. We called her our goat cat. With the variety of non pet food she ate, surprisingly she lived to 20 years old.

This is something I did not know anything about. Thank you. I think we may need to introduce our almost 18 year old cat to watermelon. She actually likes sweets - marshmallows and cotton candy are her favorites, but she only gets them once or twice a year and only 3-4 licks of each when she does. It sounds like watermelon might be a better choice - especially as she does need to gain weight (she has hyperthyroidism) or at least keep the weight we have fought hard to put back on.

My cat loves watermelon. I tend to get the small ones and just cut them in half and eat them with a spoon so it's easy enough to scrape out some thin pieces for her to munch on. Cats often don't drink as much water as they should so it's always seemed like a good snack for her, especially when it's hot.

Tigger used to love licking watermelon. Spike would eat cantelope cut up in small pieces. He had FUS and I always thought he craved fruit or the acids to keep him cleaned out.

My cat sniffs it and walks away but once I have some on my fork, and she sees me eating it, she tries to nibble the other end of my watermelon

Cat loves to lick watermelon slices. Also love to munch pineapple leaves or sprouts. Whatever is on the top. My rescue squirrel was insane over watermelon. The down side was it made him piss every five minutes
