My injuries and wear and tear on my joints come from my job. I was a street cop for 30 years and the continual stepping out of my car, pushing up with my left leg while turning, then taking off in a foot pursuit, all while wearing an extra 20 pounds of gear, plus climbing, jumping off fences/buildings/whatever, has done a number on me. I'm just lucky I don't have real back problems.

Running after the wrong men in high heels did it for me.

I'm grateful for the exercises you demonstrated today. I enjoy stretching along with you. I do resistance exercising with a group. The ones you show us here I can do alone. Thank you so much. Keep them coming.

Don't assume Doc. I played Football and that is what is bringing me to this video.

I’m curious, though—
1) once you study runners who are (still) running in their 50s, is this already a self-selected group? In other words, folks whose physiology has for whatever reason allowed them to run pain free into senior years?

2) related to #1, the senior runners are less likely to be knock-kneed, etc, making repetitive motion with proper vs improper form less grinding over the years—> less joint degradation?

3) women: were these studies of men? Wonder in women’s hormone changes have anything to do with certain repetitive motion and higher impact exercises more likely to lead to OA vs for men?

Respected sir, please answer my question.
I was doing yoga at home and after some time I noticed bulge and stiffness in my oblique muscles on both sides, and this affected the curves of my waist . What kind of exercise or stretching is helpful to get rid of this tightness and how can I get my waist curves back .

Can you clarify if weightlifting increase the risk of OA when done over time? Weightlifting would not be high impact nor have torsional loading but would load the joint. Probably should avoid “heavy lifting” but how is “heavy lifting” defined? Being obese is a risk factor for OA at least partially due to the extra load going through the joint is this the same for weightlifting? Is there a rep range to avoid or % of body weight not to exceed when lifting?

I ran an impact air tool for 12 years. My hands are messed up. I was in a car accident in 2003.. I broke 14 ribs, my right hand had damage and my right leg. I am very limited in movement.

I have clicky knees from many years of playing tennis as a kid & teenager. It sucks for when I’m creeping about the house at night trying not to wake my sleeping husband. lol
