The Science Workshop, spanning a total of 23 hours over five days, was designed to address two major objectives. One is to engage participants in the process of scientific inquiry through everyday life questions and encouraging reflection on prevailing teaching practices and the second was their alignment with the aims of science education. The workshop aimed to provide an immersive and interactive experience for participants, enabling them to explore scientific phenomena and inquiries that relate directly to their daily lives. By emphasizing the importance of scientific inquiry in everyday contexts, participants were encouraged to ask questions, collect data, form hypotheses, and draw conclusions through
hands-on activities and collaborative discussions.
In addition to engaging participants in scientific inquiry, the workshop sought to create a space for reflection on teaching practices in the field of science education. Participants were encouraged to critically examine their current approaches and methods of teaching, considering how they align with the broader goals of science education. Through guided discussions and reflective exercises, participants had the opportunity to identify strengths and areas for improvement in their instructional practices. The workshop aimed to empower participants to enhance their understanding of scientific concepts, develop a sense of inquiry in their teaching, and foster a deeper connection between science education and real-life contexts. Through an active learning environment and opportunities for collaboration, participants were able to exchange ideas, share experiences, and gain insights that would inform their future teaching practices.
