Use a Hair Dryer to Painlessly Remove Band-Aids

Bandages are, literally, a pain to remove, but Redditor wallaceeffect believes he has a solution: blow dry the band-aid on high heat before ripping it off. I decided to give this a try and find out if warm air really made a difference.

i have an active scrape on my knee and when i tried to remove the bandage off, it literally hurt like hell...soaked it, applied oil and petroleum jelly, worked halfway but still hurt slightly...finally i tried blow drying and GOD, it helped me so much...I actually all the way while removing the bandage slowly...I think both appying a lube+blow drying method works the best...u can keep the temperature at low...

Had not heard about this one. Does this work when doing a brazilian wax also?

Blow drying is worse cause the glue goes liquid and then drys fast and hurts after 30 min

I don't know why everyone
is being so hostile.
This is actually super smart.

You guys don't understand that this goes for almost anything sticky that is stuck to you, like duct tape, a bandaid, you could even remove fly paper or glue traps like this.

this would only make sence for ducktape, bandaids don't hurt when taking them off.

No, but it just takes about 1 second to take it off of your arm and doesnt hurt

This could be useful for people who have heavy bandaging on their hairy legs or something. You can extend the theory beyond a simple bandaid on your arm people!

just soak it in warm water and rub it off... no pain at all.

You can always just use a watered down sponge and put it on the bandaid for 20 seconds then rip it off

I think the tip is mostly useful if you have little children.
You'd might even say "suck it" to the child (in a less rude way of course), but it's you who's got to deal with the "discomfort" of said child :P

Well it was pretty useless, I mean how painful does it have to be that one makes a video of it to reduce the pain ... by a small amount. However the viewer may not have the right to complain as the title of the video did state what it was going to be about, I guess it's our fault for still watching expecting a standard usefull/quality video from LifeHacker ..

I would much rather find a blow dryer than suck it.
