T10 V3 4Runner Head Unit Review - Apple Carplay for 4Runner

In this video we take a look at the T10 V3 for 4Runner. The main reason I went with the T10 V3 was to get Apple Carplay into my 2019 4Runner. We rented a 2021 4Runner this summer which came with Carplay and when I got home I immediately researched how to get Carplay into my 4Runner.

I bought one of these from their website and I had a bunch of issues. I told them I was going to return it. So I sent it back. This was right after thanksgiving. It’s now Jan 11 and I’m fighting with cartrimhome to get my money back. I paid extra to send it 8-10 business days and the guy Chen keeps saying he will get it this week. He has been saying that for 3 weeks now. I’m pissed. I wouldn’t buy anything from this company. Good review, but the product didn’t work for me. If the product worked properly there wouldn’t be a Facebook community on how to fix issues.

This review is spot on!!! I had my T10V3 for about almost a year now and have not had any issues at all. I am not a DIYer but simply followed the FB page install and successfully installed it the first time. The only thing I don't like about it are the microphone which is a bit weak based on my experience, the volume controls which jumps and the back up view from the camera. Other than that, everything else works great!!! So sorry to hear those that are not or did not had a good experience.

Thanks for the your review! I have the 2018 ORP and love it except for factory head unit. I’m most concerned with dust collecting inside the screen—a deal breaker. But it looks amazing—thank you again for taking the time to do this.

The rear camera shouldn’t do that. What are your settings set at ? Was it like this since day one or some settings were changed ? How many mls you have set the rear cam to? Should be 0.’

I have a 22 runner, personally it looks to big for my taste, I’m looking to replace all speakers first hopefully the stock unit will put out the power.

We have installed the unit and it is working except we cannot get the steering wheel control to work. You mentioned a dongle connection in your video. Our installation included a canbus that is supposed to wirelessly connect to the wheel, but it isn't a direct connection to the oem cable. Did you have a canbus to or a direct connection?

Is your 4Runner a Limited with factory navigation and the JBL sound system? I have a 2015 Limited 2WD with the JBL/Navigation. I do not have the 360 camera setup? Have you had any issues retaining the speakers/amplifier? I've watched many videos on the T10 V3.1 and how to set up/program the steering wheel controls I don't want to lose the steering wheel controls or the speakers and factory amplifier if I convert over to this unit. The factory head unit touch screen no longer functions on the upper half of the screen for God knows why. I figured it might just be easier to replace it with a unit that is pretty much plug-and-play. Your thoughts?

Watching your video but have a quick question - do you have SXM, Sirius XM service - I am hoping this unit will be able to download the SXM app and allow one to listen to satellite services. Followup to my question - I have learned a lot since I posted this question - CarPlay, an iOS thing, projects onto the T10V - so many of the apps one has on the iPhone will project to the T10V, there are some exceptions but SXM app, if on the iphone will be on the CarPlay screen. What's your recommendation for a similar one that does have knobs? I love the look of this but can't see myself enjoying only using steering wheel controls, and the buttons seem inconvenient.
