I trust Elon Musks judgement. He tries to do the right thing for people and the planet.
Facebook has had negative effects on society and the planet by allowing lies, misinformation and half truths to be spread on the platform. Facebook seems more interested in profits than in doing the right thing. Ethics, character and judgement matter.

3:02 this is somewhat inaccurate, you cannot escape AI simply by moving to planets.

In fact AI would play a big role in building and operating rockets and maintaining mars bases (as its hard for humans to operate in that climate)

So Musk would actually gain a lot from AI (with Tesla too) but he seems to realize the obvious risks.

If you understand anything about information processing or computers, you would be concerned about ai. Zuck is in denial because his business model relies on the development of ai, but overall Musk is correct here. Mathematically, if you have an ai that learns from its mistakes to any extent, over an infinite period of time its intelligence will grow exponentially into what's called a technological singularity. It would be impossible for a human brain to understand a processing system that is so much more complex than it; like Elon said, it would be like trying to have a cat understand how the human brain works.

2:48 Wholly inconsequential note: Meta has retired the Oculus brand, and their current VR headset is now called the Meta Quest, rather than Oculus Quest. Having said that, the boxes of new units still have "Oculus" printed on them, so this comment is nothing more than a manifestation of my pedantry.

Regarding tesla defying lockdown orders, I believe the state allowed opening up but the county illegally overulled? I think simply saying tesla defied lockdown is misleading/mischaracterising
