I think that this stone is among your best if not the absolute best. You are going to enter it in the next competition, I hope.

Another very nice video and a beautiful piece. The clarity of this gem is wonderful. The result of your extra care while polishing. You make it look easy, but I know it's not that simple. Thank you for sharing. :-)

Very cool. I need to master this cut. I wont feel like a decent faceter until I do. Almost identical to the mini square by Beard. That table is beautiful Cliff. All your facets are Sharp, crisp, and flat. Something for me to strive for.
Thanks Cliff!)

I experienced the exact same problem only a week ago. I am cutting several stones for a "my first client", 4 of which are to be SRB's with Spike Mains and only 6mm in diameter. I only recently got dops capable of cutting such small stones and I have only cut 1 matching pair since I started 6.5 months ago, so cutting 4 matching stones is no small task for me.
Anyway, I was using my "metal" calipers on a tiny synth. Ruby and didn't loosen the calipers off before withdrawing them from the stone. Of course "off it came". Luckily, I was able to reattach and align the stone without requiring any cheating so I'd say I got off lucky. But is was a good lesson learned. Meanwhile I am waiting for a small brass slide caliper to arrive (in a few months ?). But I'm not sure that would have prevented this from happening any more than I think it could have been prevented had I had plastic calipers.
Great Job on your stone. It looks fantastic.

I like that it seems to have large bold facet. Looks like someone made a gem out of keyptonite.

If you could get your hands on a piece of chambersite and cut it, I'd be glad. It's my favorite purple gemstone and I want to see how you'd cut it. Best wishes!

Beautiful cut. Amateur asking, why not slice off the two edges in the beginning and make two other smaller stones?

Hey where is the facet design for this one? I could not find it on the internet in the normal places.
