Tour de France 2013 Stage 18

The 18th stage of the Tour de France 2013 took place on Thursday July 18, 2013. It starts from Gap and arrives at L'Alpe d'Huez.

Christophe Riblon is part of a breakaway of nine riders which crosses the Col d'Ornon with an 8:15 lead over the peloton. He was dropped by Tejay van Garderen on the first climb of Alpe d'Huez, but Moreno Moser brought him back to the American. The trio passed the Col de Sarenne with an 8:20 lead over the yellow jersey group. On the descent, Van Garderen was left behind because of a mechanical problem, but the trio reformed just before the second climb of Alpe d'Huez. Moser then Riblon were let go by van Garderen, who led Riblon by 40 seconds six kilometers from the finish.
