What i forgot to mention in the intro speech is that I have been on vacation for a week before I recorded this so I haven't played the guitar for several days other then the quick warm up before the recording. These are just excuses because this is the worst cover I uploaded for years. But i wanted to get it done because I don't want to relearn this solo in a few months and the gibson might be sold by then...

When I first picked up a guitar my dream and ultimate goal was to be able to play this solo. This is a good chance to try to learn It. Thank you!

You never realize how difficult Ritchies technique is until you actually see what he is doing. Such an underrated guitarist.

Great rendition. One of the most difficult solos to pull off. Why Blackmore is not given his rightful place as one in the greatest of all time, mystifies me.

I believe no one but Ritchie could have played this solo back in 1969. When I first heard it back then it just seemed superhuman to me. It has everything that makes Blackmore one of the very best IMO. Incredible power speed and controlled abandon in the main solo and soul grabbing sweetness of expression in the section leading in to it. Others can play the notes but no one can play it the way Ritchie did (stating the bleeding obvious there)

Great playing, one of Blackmore's best. Some days I can play the appregios straight off and other days it just doesn't happen. I think Ritchie alternate picks them too. The MIJ version is even faster!😯

yeah i agree, that last part needs many months of practice, especially if you want to play it with alternate picking which is the way to go...anyway...finally somebody recorded lesson for this solo, i was telling myself for years to do it...nonetheless you did a great job, it is very hard solo, really fast and long with almost no breaks to catch a breath

Senza parole. Sei bravissimo. Amazing. Sogno di suonare i pezzi di Blackmore come te. Congratulation

I too was blown away when I first heard this - I was 15 and this was the first LP I ever bought. What is ironic that this particular solo was only ever played like this on the recording - from that point onwards, I think that Blackmore never played it the same way twice.

Man you played that solo well. The last part i also tried but still need many many months to practice. Sometimes it goes sometimes not.Whatever..if we find joy in playing guitar thats what counts.

Amazing job, and can you also do the other version of the solo where they are live

Great job! At the moment I'm learning the organ part then I will dare to try the guitar part! Deep Purple sound is a mix of guitar and organ and this makes this band so unique.

By the way, I think that this is Ritchie's finest solo along with Gates of Babylon's. What do you think?

Great job! I cross pick the last part and find it hard to play it that fast, but I can't play it with all down picking like you do... I just cant play triplets like that at all.

it's terrifying to even look at this speed, how many years did it take to learn this way? I'm still in the first third of the solo when you've already played through it.

And again I say: fine job. A very one.
