Steep Rock Preserve ( Hiking Washington, Connecticut )

Hiking at Steep Rock Preserve in Washington, Connecticut.

One of the most popular hiking destinations in Connecticut. Steep Rock Preserve is well maintained and has lots of trails and sites to see. An old tunnel in the winter time leaves ice formations within the tunnel. Definitely bring your spikes or crampons in the winter time though.

Steep Rock also has a great overlook. Trails that go along a river as well as some old ruins to explore. Come check this hiking destination out.

We deviated from the AllTrails map below adding in about two miles by adding a loop going through the tunnel and back by taking the trail along the river.
