Zooming in on the Triangulum Galaxy

preview_player
This video journey takes the viewer on a three-million-light-year trip to the Triangulum Galaxy, Messier 33. The final view, from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, is the most detailed wide-field view of this object ever obtained and shows the many glowing gas clouds in the spiral arms with particular clarity.

Imagine someone in triangulum galaxy is watching something like: "Zoom in on the Milky way or Andromeda"

Triangulum Galaxy is the third largest galaxy in the Local Group.

1. Andromeda Galaxy
2. Milky Way Galaxy (the one you're probably in right now)
3. Triangulum Galaxy
4. Large Magellanic Cloud
5. NGC 3109

The Triangulum Galaxy is also the smallest spiral galaxy in the Local Group, and it is the ONLY unbarred spiral galaxy.

I saw m33 from my front porch the other night.. one star in the night sky flickered red and blue when I focused on it intently it blurred to a solid purple, when I used my app to see what I was looking at I was blown away... to think I'm looking at light almost 3 million years away in time this giant celestial body is deduced to a flickering spec. Wicked stuff thanks for Sharing

WOW .... 2.81 MILLION light years away, 59, 310 ly across. And they open up images showing individual stars in that galactic core.

Several of those nebulae and clusters have NGC numbers of their own, but there's probably no point identifying them here.

Andromeda is so close to the Triangulum Galaxy that with the naked eye you could see a lot of details

That's amazing it's too deep in the sky how much it zoomed to get the image

In the beginning of the video, what object is on the right of M 33 ? Andromeda Galaxy M 31?

Uçsuz bucaksız evrene karşılık dünya inanılmaz küçük. Bu soluk mavi noktada küçük işler peşinde koşturuyoruz.

It's funny to me when I think about the things I worry about in my own life in the face of the size of the universe.

Edit: I'm sorry for my bad english. 🙂
