If I had to guess I'd say the huge biomes are because the Nether is supposed to be 8 times smaller than the Overoworld, but since that would be impossible they just blew it up by 8 times.

Creator of the datapack here! I never thought I'd see a content creator like you cover something I've made, I think I'm shaking out of joy right now 😅

Several of the technical limitations of the pack (such as the massive nether biomes) are actually possible to get around, I just didn't know this at the time because I was much less experienced in datapack creation. Maybe someday I'll come back to the project and update it, not sure yet.

I made a datapack with this concept once, except I had the idea be that if you fell into the void n the overworld, you would descend into the nether, but unlike with portals, it actually takes you to your current location rather than timesing it by 8. I still use this in some (but definitely not all) of my modern survival-with-sprinkles worlds now

*This is exactly how I imagined nether when I started playing Minecraft as a little kid more than 10 years ago* 😍 I remember being _terrified_ of digging every block down as one of my friends told me that the nether is bellow the surface and that it's scary and terrible place with weird pigs to get into... 😱
I started mining down only after I found my first iron ore in a canyon by accident wondering what the weird colored coal ore was and googling some stuff about the game and finding some 'let's plays' here on YouTube 🤣
And the second breakthrough was when I discovered that weird rectangle with cursor bellow the Leave Bed button when sleeping and the fact you could write into it if fast enough... That was when I discovered the /gamemode 1 command and finally got to know most of the items in game. 😇 That was finally when I really got to know what 'nether' really was. 😀 Then it went fast: other commands, command blocks, redstone, servers, plugins, mods, java development etc. up to this day 😆

Immersive portals dimension stacking keeps the overworld and nether the same, as well as stacking them. you can also add other dimensions

This is tbh how Minecraft should have always been :D The main problem was how it started out as a 1 man project and we all remember how building higher than 128 blocks was not possible as well.

Yooo this is a sick concept, really like the eerie dark nether a lot more, maybe using a strider would be cool to cross the distance? Although how does nether wart and wither skeletons work? Because it’d be cool to see Jardoon fight the wither in the nether considering this mod places a lot of focus on the nether
