Strange story this but true. A dentist i went to regularly (late 80/90s), had a signed picture of the band on the ceiling of his surgery. So when you were lying back getting work done, you were staring at this signed photo of Deacon Blue! They had also written on photo thanks for all the hard work, so I'm assuming he had done dental work for them as well. There was a rumour going about that they (and the dentist), had all been at University together, but this was never substantiated. He was a top dentist, but a very serious individual. He never smiled and would shout at his dental nurses in front of you if they made a mistake. I think they were terrified of him! I remember one day, I had just come out of his surgery, and was booking a follow up appointment, and he suddenly came storming out of the surgery slamming the door behind him. I asked the nurse what that was all about, and she said he was furious because he was late for lunch!!! wtf. I heard he retired from his line of work in his early forties, probably just as well lol

I went to see Wet Wet Wet with my wife and about two weeks later we went to see Deacon Blue for her. I was a little disappointed with the Wet's but have now been a lifelong fan of Deacon Blue]ever since. would of been 30 years ago.
