All I do is ride Nicehash, and if I need lower temperatures and TDP for the day or when NH goes into mainteneance mode, I have Vertcoin one-click miners on the rigs and I mine VTC on 50% power. If NH started screwing up I will switch to direct mining altogether. Solar powered and good internet connection so I basically became an IT technician for life. And for living. I dig it! Peace bro

So in theory, EIP 1559 goes live and everyone stops mining ethereum, and most of those continue to mine other coins. Those coins difficulty will go way up and ethereum's difficulty would tank, increasing profitability again on ethereum. I believe it will stabilize the miners mining the smaller coins vs. Mining ethereum.

Even if it does get to the point of mining to breakeven, there's always the chance something else will happen or come along and profitability will go up.

Very good Information. I'm a miner too. Been also following BBT. What you brought up about switching which coin you are mining based on profitably has always been then main issue. Just about all miners hold ETH. We dont want to see it crash in away way. BUT with the possibility of a mass exodus of miners to a more profitable coin, how will the security and stability of the network be? Thats why BBT suggested setting rewards up 1 more ETH and lowering it every so often. This will promote a slower decay of miners on the network to keep it for sure stable and secure.

I don't know any miner that does it because of loyalty for any coin. We go where the most profitability is, that's how proof of work maintains security.

Way to much hashpower will be the problem. Not many understand pulling 50% of profits out of mining will mean. Mined enough years to know what’s coming. Will start selling gpus come June and hopefully have any old tech sold by mid July. Will probably only keep the 3060ti’s and maybe the 5700s. P104, 1060, 570, 580 will all get sold.

I sold all my 500 series amd cards because it's not as efficient on other coins as it is on eth so I sold them to gain 3 times profit on the cards itself

Bitsbetrippin had scenarios where eth could be 51% attacked. Devs didn't think this was possible so miners wanted to show that haspower could be shifted easily. The twist was people thought it was an attack where it was actually just a demonstration with no malicious intent.
