From not hearing any deafening feedback, I think that this whistle might be quieter than horns, and that might be why Hancock decided to put this on diesels and electrics. I still find it amazing that the same company who built this air whistle made the steam whistle for locomotives such as the Southern Pacific’s Daylight, the Norfolk and Western’s J Class, and the Union Pacific’s 844, Challenger, and Big Boy. And even though most EMC/EMD F and E locomotives would sound the best with a Leslie A200 or Westinghouse E2, the dual-mode (can operate as a diesel-electric or full-electric) FL9 sounds the best with a Hancock air whistle. It just sounds great.

I wonder if Hancock ever made a version of the 4700 that used parts of their long-bell 3-chimes?

for some reason, I had this noise in a nightmare a couple of nights ago, and I've never heard it before the nightmare. I heard this noise when something came out and made me pass out but idk if it means anything.

Fit this one on an FL9 and let it be a classic

This sounds like the whistle they used at the Bedrock Quarry on the cartoon series “The Flintstones “

I think the light rail trains here in Dallas use these but they’re tuned higher
