2010 Nissan Maxima Top Speed 60-130

this CVT is awesome and the paddles are super fast. The acceleration between 30 to 90 is incredible. They put the acceleration in the right place. I've only been up to 110 in my 2011. Did a roll from 30 against a modified Charger R/T and we were side by side the whole time, and my Max is stock.

I owned a 00 maxima with the 5 speed and i took it to 152 "on a track, officer" and I have no want to ever go that fast in a family car again. that was youthful stupidity. i thought the door mirrors were about to be ripped off and the sunroof sucked up and out of the car. And at that speed, just letting off the gas is like slamming on the brakes. you don't need brakes over 130!

Funny how this car has 290hp and its BARELY faster than my 1999 Acura Tl. I raced one friday night, i made it to a little over and he could barely past me, this guy was going pedal to the medal too. But i still love the 7th gen maxima tho.

@jsnevels2 Also, there is a VERY BIG reason they give you three transmission settings. "drive" is supposed to be for quick acceleration for daily cummuting under 80 mph. "DS" is for sport style driving which simulates gear changes which gives you an extra "kick". "Manual Mode" is for passing, and gong up hills. I know these very well.. i have one andn it says so in the manual

Got my 2009 maxima up to 130 in sports mode that’s before my air intake

forgot to put it in sport mode.. Btw my 2012 maxima can do 0-100km in 6 seconds, a normal maxima takes 6.5 seconds, and don't forget to turn traction control off and use the paddle shifters

For some reason, CVTs really seem to fall on their face as speeds climb anyway. If you watch other videos, 90MPH seems to be the speed where they just stop pulling as hard as it did before.

WOW i want one, I saw one in Idaho and I was like what the FUCK is that?!?!? I'm a true nissan fan with 4 1987 Sentra SR20DETS, Mine can go about 140-145 but when I saw the Maxima I was stunned! All the cars to me after 2005(not trucks or suv's)look the same but nissans never! These cars got amazing MPG and aren't slow or hybrids. Since the b12 generation the Nissan Sentra, Maxima, And Altima have ruled the street with 28 MPG and more! They are fast, slick and beautiful. Not to mention reliable

My 2009 7th Gen Max only runs 100 miles of top speed and does not go above that speed. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

i wonder would a ECU mod to 160mph would hurt the cvt add like 45hp

@IHeartMoney97 Exactly. The only downfall is the loss of power at around 100mph, but then how often does the average driver hit those speeds? The CVT works very well in these cars.

Did you press the pedal all the way down fro the RPMs to jump like that? As that seems too harsh if you didn't
