Once upon a time...a crisp sunny windy Spring day In 1981 this little humble band came to my university in upstate New York and everyone fell in love with them. With no expectations...they happily belted out song after song with pride and precision. You're Still the One, Dance With Me and Love Takes Time touched everyone one way or another. Larry led the band with his special humble brand of charisma and enthusiasm. I happened to be there with my girlfriend, happy, in love, up front basking simplicity and satisfaction of life. Little did we know....this would be the bands peak and our relationship peak as well. However, for one day, one performance, everything in life was perfect. People come into our lives for a reason... to give us hope, inspiration, and reaffirmation. To every member in the band---Larry, Wells, Bob, Charlie, Lance, etc...thank you...you did it! Forty years later, your special brand of music, hope, happiness lives on and inspires us today. Thank you for reaffirming...we don't have to wait....heaven is a place right here on earth.

I’m in my mid 70’s now. I first heard this song in 1979, and even today it remains my favorite rock song of all time. The message, the vocals, and the harmony will never be topped.

Man the music was so great back then. Today's generation will never truly understand that. 70s and 80s...the best

I can close my eyes and I am back in 1979. When I would tell my parents “going for a bike ride “.
Kids playing in the streets or in the parks. Everyone was home before it got dark. No need for cell phones. Gosh, Life was easier then. Great song! No profanity and no hired dancers to sell the product. This is real music. Thank you for producing this song, what a great expression of love, it takes time.

What happened to Orleans ??

RIP Larry Hoppen...what a voice! Also John Hall (guitarist) did fine work in Dutchess County (NY) as a congressman!

One night...many moons ago...I was in Albany, NY club-hopping as our group had the night off and we stumbled into a small place on Central Ave. called "Pauly's Hotel" and there was a $2.00 cover, so we paid and walked in....there was maybe a dozen people there and so we grabbed a table up front about 6 feet front the stage and the band came out and this guy walks up to the mic and says "Good evening..we are Orleans". Then they opened up and I was glued to my chair for the next hour and a half. Ever since then, I became a big fan of one of the finest groups I've ever heard.

This song was not just an American hit. It was in fact an international hit at the time. It was well received across the world and rightly deserved it.

As always, finding music from my younger days reminds me how much better life was in the 70s. Being 61 aint a bad thing! Todays noise will NEVER be this.

Orleans was truly one the greatest vocal groups of all time. They had a unique blend of harmony, range, and vibrato that I have yet to hear elsewhere. The songs touched our hearts and souls like no one else before or since. Great work guys and I think this group was very under appreciated for being as talented as they were. You will remain in my car stereo forever.

Awesome band, one of my 70s favorites, along with Poco, Firefall, Eagles, Pablo Cruise and Toto! Lead singer had an awesome voice! One of my favorite songs by them, as well!!!
