What does it mean to delight yourself in God? You've likely heard Psalm 37:4 before which says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." But what does that even mean? What does it mean to delight yourself in the Lord? And when we delight ourselves in God, does that really mean He will give us whatever we want? This tends to be a verse that gets misused a lot, so in today's video we're doing a Psalm 37:4 Bible study to understand what it actually means...and it may surprise you - in a really good way.

Wonderful video, Kaci! I learned what this verse actually means and I had always been confused by it. I have heard the statement that God is not like a genie in a bottle before, but then this verse was confusing for me. I also think of the verse where Jesus tells us to pray, even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed and we shall receive it. This meaning also applies to the second verse as we will receive what God wants for us and as we mature biblically, we will be getting what we want cuz we will want what God wants for us. Very enlightening!

This was good!!! I misunderstood this scripture too for a long time and found myself confused as to its true meaning. I just learned what it really meant recently. I have to get to a mindset that if it's not from God, then I don't want it.

I am busy working through Ps 119 - verse by verse. Yesterday I spend time in Ps 119:36. Incline my heart towards your testimonies and not to coveteousness.

I come to learn the word coveteous.

Therefore: Satisfy myself with God's Word ... the opposite of coveteousness🙌

This verse fit in nicely with Psalm 37:4 .... satisfy myself with God's word .... delight in His desire.

When in despair Jesus lifts us up. Father God all I have is you to turn to. I know you hear my prayers as a single mother with two sons on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed trying to provide for them.
