Climate scientists have detected warning signs of the collapse of the Gulf Stream, one of the planet’s main potential tipping points.

The major Atlantic ocean current, to which also the Gulf stream belongs, may have been losing stability in the course of the last century. This is shown in a new study published in Nature Climate Change.

What are your thoughts on the Beaufort gyre? At a normal reversal of 7.2 years it has now been stuck in clockwise rotation for 21-22 years containing a massive amount of fresh water in it. Have you come across any recent information on the gyre ? Possible direction reversal soon? This surely would be a massive environmental change.

It is therefore recommended that all people in North America go to the East coast and push the water north while Europeans go to west coast and push the water south. Whew. That was a close one.

I've been saying this for 20 years and now they are concerned? If we would of reversed our usage of carbon fuel sources 20 years ago, we might have affected change in the current path we are on. Now it's too late to do anything about it. Even if we stop burning carbon all together.
