Alizarin Crimson Hi,
👉Welcome to Jo MacKenzie YouTube Channel
💟Video Tittle : Alizarin Crimson ||
Alizarin Crimson is a dark red. It is transparent and can be fugitive , meaning it fades over time. If possible purchase the permanent Alizarin Crimson to avoid this issue.

Hope you guys enjoy this!

😭 I liked this video earlier in the year (I'm 9 months in painting with watercolours)... I always thought you were using PR 83 😂

I just ordered another PR 83 because I love it. I also have PR 206 (the W&N you're using, but I didn't know it until just now! 😂), and the other permanent alizarins (mostly more pigments). I've used sketchbooks to put ALL the reds I've bought (single pigment minus the cadmium reds) and none seem like PR 83 (which I know is totally fugitive).

Can you speak to PR 83? Like, PR 206 (a fine color, which I knew as "quin burnt scarlet" though W&N calls it Perm. Alizarin Crimson) seems so different to me than PR 83. I've spent so much on these tubes of reds that, while more LF than the disappearing ink (oops, I mean PR 83!! 😂), don't seem to be a thing like PR 83. Example: Winsor Red (Pr 254) is lovely, and M. Graham's Perm. Aliz is PR 264 (pyrrol crimson).

You're a genius. 🤗 Why can't a paint company fire up a PV19 that somewhat resembles PR 83?! Some of my fake alizarins are not only ugly brown, but they're no more lightfast than the PR 83! So honest question: all LF ratings aside, do you think PR 206 is the closest to PR 83 we'll ever get from these paint manufacturers?

(Note: I have two tubes of the perylene maroon, thinking I'll take handprint's advice and make that the substitute PR 83. Sadly, I've learned to detest perylene maroon. I've ruined paintings trying to work with it as a replacement alizarin 😂 So I end up just buying the PR 83s and taking pictures of the loveliness.)

LOVE your channel! ❤️ HELP!

I'm loving your tutorials and tips, thanks!

Is there anyway you can prevent your easel from moving around so much? It makes me dizzy watching it :-)

Thanks again!
