I've been into Hoyas since 1997 & have always known about the addiction factor. Lol they used to call them the poor mans orchid because they were cheaper. Ha that sure changed after the craze. Nursery school used to just carry the carnosa kris son queen and regular green, and most didn't even know what a Hoya was. Now you can find them everywhere. I find the larger and medium sized leafed ones to be easier for me in my location in So. Calif. but in the parts of the country where humidity is high, they can grow the smaller ones fine. I have most of them outside under trees and patio, and in spring and summer they grow like crazy, but slow down or stop in winter. Best of luck with yours. You have a great start.

Yay! It's good to see the progress on the cuttings! My understanding between the two Burtoniaes is that Hoya sp aff. burtoniae has the more round leaves and Hoya burtoniae has the skinnier ones. They are both going to have that pubescent (fuzz) to them. 🥰🌿🌺 Also, hoya cuttings really start to take off once the roots become established. Just keep them fertilized and lots of light and they should just take off. The variegated compacta is a slow grower especially if it's working on roots. In my experience it's grown faster (still slow) in my west facing window that gets blasted with sun (this is in OR so ymmv in TX, but when I lived in TX I kept my hoyas on a south facing patio with strong filtered sun). Hoyas are expensive right now because there is a huge demand for them. I remember working at a nursery in 2016 and no one would bat an eye at these plants. Their popularity shot through the roof with the pandemic (along with other plants). I'm starting to see prices are finally starting to come down and stabilize a bit more. Just continue to be patient and plants will become affordable again. lol

I bought a 2nd Mathilde because the first one I thought I killed it 😂. After watching a video about lighting from Miro. Changed the bulb from a ridiculous high light to a 9-watt all the suddenly she pushed out new growth, and she grew😁. Now I have all hoyas under a 10-watt light and they are a lot happier.

I really enjoyed your collection. I have a few, and I have recently gotten the bug to purchase more. Have you noticed that they are growing more now that the weather has cooled down? Awww, I have been wandering about your dark dog. I always see Mia. I know her name because she always makes appearances. Lol

Off to buy Hoya.

Thanks for sharing your collection. Hoyas dont like plenty water from my experience dealing with them. It causes their roots to rot. I fell upon Hoyas accidently during the pandemic now I have about 25 ranging from tiny leaves to big plated leaves. My Hoya Krinkle 8 & Hoya Pubicalyx Red has just bloomed. Cant wait to see the some of the others. I wish you luck.

Love the video! I was a fiend for a little but they hate me😂. I do want to thank you for love of pipers and Homalomena plants; but my favorite genius is still monsteras

I think it’s nice that you’re using fluval. I’m seeing more and more people using it. I’ve got a plant growing in fluval too.

Hey I'm loving the yellow on you. I had two Hoya's that didn't grow any new leaves for several months but last week they finally started putting out some leaves. So you have to be very patient with some of these. But having a greenhouse definitely helps.

Love the video I experienced all the following symptoms.😂. I got hooked on Hoya by a YouTuber named Sheffield made plants. He got me hooked on Hoya. I just started my channel, and I am hoping to spread my love for Hoyas. I love especially small leaves hoyas the smaller the better😁

I just came across your channel, so new sub here, I don’t know were you keep them but that shelf behind you with the empty space with the grow light should help with the slow growth. I am getting into them now and I just love them
