Hey Kevin, thanks for the review this made it a lot more clear than others. I loved your presentation too but I have a couple lingering questions… how does this perform under load? I’m asking as due to the air not having active cooling, did you experience any thermal throttling or anything? This is literally what’s caught me in the middle between a pro and the air lol

Thank you for this. I just ordered a new base model m2 with DEEP discount (200 bucks off) on Amazon and I wasn’t sure if I made the right move. Truth is, I had no choice. I could not afford to pay more than the 800 bucks 😅

For context, I had a 2019 16” MBP with 16GB RAM until it died. And I used it for Xcode mostly.

I concede that m2 pro is better from the performance perspective, but from personal consideration, I really don't like the touch bar! therefore, the m2 air has more competitive.

Hi Kevin. I enjoyed your video thank you for amazing contents. I’m an IT student and it’s been a while that I work on neural networks, for example in my thesis, I’m using PyTorch library to classify some nodes in a large social network dataset. I had an intel MacBook Pro and I sold it. now I wanna buy a MacBook for doing so. As you know Apple has a back to school promotion and I could buy a 14-inch MacBook Pro or an iPad Pro besides an M2 MacBook air.
Which one should I go with? The 14-inch MacBook pro or the combo (iPad +MacBook air)
If I choose the M2 MacBook air is it need to upgrade the ram to 16gb or the base model would be enough.

It's all good if u wanna get a 16GB ram until u hear that the price difference between a 8GB ram MacBook Air vs 16GB ram is 300$
