God, every fuck still complaining about the price here. It's a high end, futuristic product. It's NOT for the average consumer. And if you can't afford a 600 dollar console with new gen and cutting edge technology (which also includes a controller, some games etc.), you're probably not an adult with a job or someone who has the pc to run this thing anyway. People pay a lot more for the newest iphone, which isn't even innovative really (whilst being a good phone, don't get me wrong), yet they scream and complain when something new and innovative is 600 dollars...

i dont get why a $1000 monitor is fine but a $600 headset that makes you feel like you are literally inside of a game is super pricey

That price tag is just way too high. It seems like tech that needs a few more years of development. Great idea, needs work.

My best friend's younger brother does development for the Oculus Rift, so I have had the luck to get the opportunity to actually try the thing out... And that was truly AMAZING. First of all it actually worked as well as I had been hoping it would, but never expected that to be met. It was also not as heavy as it looks and it's strapped to your head securely, so even for such a large device it wasn't intrusive to have sticking out from my head and all.
As for the visual experience; the least iffy way for him to give me something that stable but also allround relevant at the time, was just to boot up some demos, but honestly, even those were great to just experience. For example, imagine a horror game type of "scary looking room". We've all been there, done that, and a lot of the power of it has been lost. Unless... This time you're standing right in the middle and there's sounds all around you and it's really like you're in there, looking around. And all of a sudden such a basic horror setting does get you right on the edge of your seat! I did a bunch of other things as well but I can't really write an entire essay here about how everything is so amazing on that thing. Idk xD but yeah, I loved it. At least I got an inkling about what I should be jealous of when this thing comes out for pc... and go back to my farm where peasants such as I go to play (:P)

2:22 The minimum specs are for a GeForce 970, NOT a 980. Of course there is no harm in 'exceeding' the minimum specs.

Good to know, especially regarding the specs 2:24. 2:38 was extremely helpful as well, I will keep a lookout for those! Where do you find the "Oculus Ready" label though? Is it just among the other specs? And how much do they typically cost? 1200?

I've tested multiple versions of the Oculous, including a proper virtual reality projecting you inside of a room you can move around and watch netflix etc on a giant television and put yourself right into a game. The only issue I can see with the oculous after experiencing all of that so much, is the comfort and anxiety that'll be given to the user being put into more and more realistic scenarios. It really screws with your senses.

Currently playing American Truck Simulator in VR and it's so good!~!! It's way better than Euro Truck Simulator 2 too.
I remember playing ETS2 in VR and you see pedestrians walking... when you get close they DISAPPEAR!!
On ATS you drive passed Skateparks and basketball courts and so many people walking around. It's just goddamn amazing. And for some reason it runs smoother! Which is crazy.
