I think that some girls skipping the awkward face is mostly influenced by the media, I mean, like, hollywood contracting 26 year old actressess to make a 16 year old makes girls think that they should be like that when they're 16, and all that creates self-councioussness and the over-sexualizing wich makes they "grow up" faster. But hey, I might be very wrong, since I'm still 15 and in my awkward phase where I look like 11
