Basically the book tells the story of a kid with a long name who falls down a well, his younger brother is trying to tell everyone but his names too long, and by the end everyone's got short names.

We did skits in ELA for school last year and my skin was ticky-tacky Tumbo. I learned the entire name of Tiki Tiki Tabo, and have it memorized to this day.

I’ve read this book and the story is actually based on a Japanese rakugo story called Jugemu. I think it was changed to Chinese because there was a boom of interest in Chinese culture in the 60s.
