He was my science teacher in high school. He really knows how to get the class engaged in his lessons and made me have a newfound love for science. And he also speaks very good English, even if you guys say that he sounds funny, as long as you can learn from the lectures then he's perfectly qualified to teach.

I'm a Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics teacher here in Papua New Guinea. I sent my application to Arizona but unfortunately never continued due to constraint in finance.

Hahaha. Soon Philippines will have shortage of teachers if lots of them go to the US. We get disrespected by students here and paid little salary too. Good luck

Arizona state will need more teachers from the Philippines as it faces teacher shortage in the next few years. More and more teachers from the Philippines are thinking of going to the States it is because of the low pay and overwork. Too much politics in the education system it is whom you know not what you know that always prevails. Perhaps the government should take a direct look at our education system because this has been going on since the 1970s. Better to better the quality of education not the patronage system which is hounding our education system for so long.

First the Nurses, now the Teachers. Who's next?

Excellent. What else can we outsource to keep wages depressed in this country? Nice story for one Filipino but allowing this to continue will just keep wages down.

The Thomasites educators came to Philippines in the early 1900's and taught Filipinos love for education, time to return the favor by helping the US.

Three years contract under J-1 visa too short, much better at least 5 years.

If they did it with nurses, sure why not with teachers. There are so many educated Filipinos in the Phils. but due to the selfish & shitty gov't leaders, most of them end up as call center agents. What a waste & sad truth :( This is a great idea. The kids will learn from very educated, humble, academically-loving teachers. The best candidates are the ones that came from nothing/poor countries. They have a very appreciative mindset.

This is horrible. Under funded schools and under paid teachers so they out source the job.

Teachers here in US aren’t making good money! It’s like working in the factory or should I say manufacturing!
Factory workers are making more than teachers, it’s the fact, no wonder teachers here either move or find other jobs!
So if schools are shortened with teachers, should they just close the schools?
