Wits University and Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute held a virtual media briefing to announce a breakthrough in HIV prevention. The initial results from the HPTN084 clinical trial showed that an injection every eight weeks is more effective to prevent HIV among women in sub-Saharan Africa than a daily pill.
