Muncy Township Chief of Police Chris McKibben, 48, does what he can to help the community. Outside of his service at work, he coaches track and is a volunteer firefighter who helps plan fundraisers to that the department can maintain its building and buy equipment.

When Chris was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer affecting the body's lymphatic system, he was determined to not let the cancer interfere with his job or volunteer work. Being able to receive his treatments at Susquehanna Health Cancer Center at Divine Providence Hospital, just five minutes from home, helped him meet that goal.

Within two weeks of his diagnosis, they knew it was stage 3B.

The Cancer Center was a bright spot for Chris and his wife in the midst of a difficult situation. "Staying positive is half the battle. The staff ... they're all positive and happy and smiling, so that just inspired me."

After a clean PET scan, Chris received his 12th and final dose of chemotherapy on April 15, 2010. "If it weren't for the convenience of the Cancer Center, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish everything I did and keep working. It's important that people know what we have here in our backyard. The quality of care and just the amazing people. It's awesome what we have here."
