I learnt this poem by heart when I was 21 after listening to it on BBC program "Poems by Post.' I found it included in a children's book of poetry belonging to my one of my two sisters. I've never regretted learning to recite it through the storms I face in life. All high value men should know it, and a great gift a great father can pass on to his sons. It has also aided me on my journey to be a distinguished poet, playwright, novelist and short story writer where Rudyard Kipling is one of my significant influence. I wonder how he thought about it to bequeath this great piece to prosperity. I'm waxing stronger this year I celebrate my golden age (50).

A poem that sould be learned by heart by every person that speaks English... It's the kind of poems or literary works that push people to learn a given language to be able to drink a pure water from its source
