Hoy! Here are some sources, inspirations and rants and stuff! Wasn’t able to add this comment right after upload because I was tired.

The 10 000 hours rule is quite largely discussed, if you wanna look more into it I suggest googling around and read different perspectives ’n stuff, but here’s a pretty cool and inspiring art story:

I took the 20 hour rule (I raised it to 30 because I wanted to) from a ted talk
«The first 20 hours - how to learn anything»

How to improve rapidly

The 7 habits of highly effective artists

I spent very little time on actually finishing things, I mostly spammed out sketches and stuff like that to understand how foxes are built up from the ground up. If I were to focus on finishing things in the early stages, I’d be spending a lot of time that I could’ve instead spent on trying to understand how stuff functions.

Art is a very broad subject. 20 hours on «art» is very vague. It’s possible to use the 20 hours «rule» in a very fun way

Let’s say you spend:
20h on human anatomy
20h on fox anatomy
20h on hands
20h on paws
20h on fur
20h on eyes
20h on facial expressions
20h on exaggerating facial expressions
20h on exaggerating body language

Now your furries should start looking real good ;* You can split art into a lot of different parts, which is pretty fun. Ofcorse it takes a lot of work to actually achieve this kinda thing, but you know, dreams are fun.

ok I don’t really know what this comment was, but felt like adding something I dunno

"Are you telling me it takes effort to draw, that can't be right."

Great insparatuinal video. Really brings me back to when I was starting to draw. Keep at it Foofy, don't stop now, beginning to draw is always the hardest part.

I have drawn 600 to 1000 hours during one and a half years, and I still strugle drawing certain things like paws.

Just realised almost everyone who *starts* drawing has the same style tho
My first drawings exactly looked like yours with the "spikey" fur and and bendy legs and so has alot other artists I know tho

But you get there men OuO
Practice is everything
A tip what really helped me, get a basic understanding of there anatomy and muscles, so you know how to move them around and how it works and all connects today
I also have ALOT more to learn tho

I swear you’re a psychic or something. I’ve been doing art for a while now and I’ve been feeling kinda sad and dissatisfied with my art. This reminds me that I’m better than I was and will continue to get better. Keep trying Foofy it’ll always get better! <3

Mad respect honestly!!! It’s really hard to start drawing when you’re older, since you’re way more critical than when you’re younger (which is when I started) I’m super happy for you!

Your art style really has improved greatly in those 30 days, this is an interesting way to learn new things, and I really think you succeeded!

If any is watching this 5 years later like me and is really getting into furry art, I have some pointers for you! I've been drawing for around 14 years and what really helped me is watching tutorials and studying how different animal faces look or even going on Pinterest and just scrolling the the furry section. That can give you a good idea on how to draw different animals! Just be sure to not get discouraged and don't compare your art! Comparing your art will get you sad and frustrated because your not as experienced as the other artist. And that's ok! Practice takes time and effort. So don't give up and keep drawing what you love! You've got this!

Hey, your accent is kind of cute also I think you sort of are in the same place as I am, maybe a few steps behind, but yeah. You got it! I sometimes forget to draw no matter what even if I feel like shit about my art. I also often forget that drawing is about taking your mind out of symbols and drawing things how they would be, like looking at a picture and being able to imagine the dimensions of it, how it would work in the environment it is in, what it is, but try not to symbolize it. That’s where most people don’t get it. Thank you for reminding me of some of that shit. This video kind of brightened my mood up a bit.

I stopped drawing for a few years but recently decided it's time to put some effort into it. I tried drawing for the first time in years and honestly, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. I watched a lot of videos on the body movement (there's a name I think it's line if action? I forget) but it sure helps with drawing. I'm gonna try to draw everyday for a year. My girlfriend is amazing at drawing and that's what finally shook the rust off my pencil.
