Apple: if your ssd dies, you need to send us your macbook and pay us a lot of money cause we designed it so you can't do the kind of repair on our product that takes literally 5 minutes and is super cheap to do on a pc by the end user. But your pc sucks.

They ditched Intel because they wanted to have a larger profit margin. And their new silicon is "better for business" because it's only powerful enough for browsing and emails. It would be just as true to say "worse for everything else"

Well I had an apple computer for college… the first thing I did when I graduated sell that POS and build a windows PC lol.

Apples policy is geared towards locking their products down so that not even the owner can do anything Apple doesnt want them to. With Intels CPUs being x86 there was still an Option to get other OS running as well as some limited access to the hardware. With them using their own chips those options are gone. Full lock down and max restrictions

I think ARM is probably the future for most processors, but the ecosystem isnt there yet unless youre an apple junkie. too many programs just cant run outside x86

Coming from the same people that claim their computers are not PCs and put chips in every iPhone component so they can try to lock you out of non “Apple Approved” repair.
