TalkTV's Kevin O’Sullivan and Alex Phillips question why the taxpayer is still paying the wage of BBC presenter Huw Edwards following his ‘scandal’.

A review into how non-editorial complaints are handled at the BBC, commissioned in the wake of the Huw Edwards scandal, has found a need for “greater consistency” in how complaints are processed, and revealed the corporation apologised to his family.

The BBC issued the apology to the relatives of a young person newsreader Huw Edwards is said to have given more than £35,000 since they were 17.

Reports published last July claimed Mr Edwards paid thousands to a teenager who sent him sexually explicit images.

Kevin says: “Why are we still paying for his salary - get him out of the organisation!”

AMAZING - what does it take to get the sack at the BBC, and ITV for that matter.

It can be done if they want to; Phillip Schofield was gone in a very short time. Obviously the BBC want to keep him on.

It just shows how effective the " I have mental health issues" is as a get out of jail free card. The way the BBC has acted in this case is just not acceptable for a so called public broadcaster but they have form with cover-ups Diana and Savile are but two examples. We do not have just an isolated incident here but a culture spread over decades.

Alex, please don't shout while Kevin is talking.

Probably due to the usual BBC incompetence with contracts.

Thank you both from Israel!❤ There are several hundred thousand Israelis who have had to flee their homes in the south and north of Israel due to the ongoing rocket attacks from Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north! Does the BBC talk about that?

Is it any wonder most of the British people want the licence scrapped, £675k salary funded by the tv licence.

Because Al-BBC is very good at spending and wasting other people's money.
BTW they are not spending my money, I stopped paying the TV tax years ago.
How many other Al-BBC staff are on "gardening leave" courtesy of the TV taxpayers.

If the bbsea have apologised, is that seen as an admition of guilt in court of law ? So will he have to pay for any financial losses incurred by the bbsea?but if any members of his family that worked for the bbsea, and were aware off what was going on be removed as well The company did not commit the situation. Therefore, in my personal opinion, should any legal or compensation be on the person who created the situation and not the taxpayer?
