The Indiana Pacers were mentioned often in the 2024-25 NBA GM survey, but maybe not enough. Host Tony East reacts to the survey and what GMs got right and wrong about the Pacers. He also discusses Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker with the bench and the game tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Half the time, Drew looks like low-key Brunson. In fact, Drew's taller and can defend. If he is playing his best offense consistently, he's an all-star, and Pacers are the best backcourt in basketball.

any idea how bad the knee injury is for Enrique Freeman? He was amazing tonight against the Caveliers tonight, 16 minutes, 9 rebounds 9 points, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot. Even the Cavaliers announcers were talking about how impressed they were with him. When he went out and had to be helped to the locker room, it left me completely depressed. I just can't believe it, I had such high hopes for him and remember Carlisle talking about that when he comes in the games Pacers fans will immediately notice it, and sure enough Rick was spot on, but now this, UGH, CRAP, *(#@&#)@!!

I think the Walker/Shep answer is until one or the other distances themselves its matchup based. If the remaining player that needs defended is small/quick, its Ben. If its a bigger guy, you go with Walker. Until one or the other shows you they do/dont belong. Im not sold Walker can stay with 3s consistently, but as a 4 that switches i think he could fit better eventually.

Pacers have so many Wing players and Guards that if we don’t have any injuries then I’d assume we make a Trade at the All Star Break.

A team doesn't convince a player a lottery pick to change positions and not try using him in that position. Walker should get the playing time. That said, Shep works so hard he will be pushing his way into the rotation.

J.Walker should be honed as a 4 not as a 3. The bench unit should be
McConnell at the 1
Mathurin at the 2
Sheppard/Murphy at the 3
Walker/Toppin at the 4
Jackson/Wiseman at the 5

Due to injuries. I would move Toppin at the 5 instead of moving walker in the 3 and benching sheppard. Making Walker as a 3 is forced. Making him at the 3 will require to learn lots of skills set to be effective. Dribbling, Movement, Shooting, Etc.

Thanks

I noticed the Cavs had no desire to show the Pacers what they look like, but got a chance to check us out.
