Why I don't upgrade my SONY A7iii | 8 Bit S-log 2 example footage | cinematic video

I thought about upgrading my SONY A7iii to the SONY A7iv to get 10 Bit 4:2:2 footage. But this video reminds me of what I need to invest in.. and maybe some of you as well.

It is actually really easy to color grade 8 Bit footage from the Sony a7iii with a natural look. Here I just shared my results to prove that and I will soon create a video about how I am able to get these results.

Learning by doing. Love that Brother, and I completely agree. We have better tools and more access than anyone in history before us. We need to do more with what we have, instead of running to upgrade continually.

Seriously you don’t even have to use slog to do a grade. Hlg Cine 4 just fine to do grading. Especially if u use davinciresolve or have a plug-in color space transform in premier pro

it is possible to color grade with 8 bit nobody is denying that, BUT and this is a big BUT, it is much more easier and less time consuming to be working on 10bit. PLUS many mistakes that you make on 8 bit are hard to fix in post production, while 10bit has more room for adjustments. My personal experience if your clients are paying enough always provide them with best possible footage and that is 10bit 4k, in case your clients do not appreciate that much color science and are more after cuts and transitions then surely A7iii will be just fine.
