One of my favorite Grieg compositions. I remember working on this piece in the 50's in Mankato, Minnesota.

Good to find this on cold foggy day in November. Better days ahead. I have played this. Tempo increase? Allows you to get more 'light and shade' as you develop a theme. Needs to grow - as things do in spring? The ending should follow Grieg's dramatic suggestion ie ff to pp - ppp. A bang! to zilch. A piece with it's contrasts? Neat... one to inspire / treasure. One to assimilate and enjoy. Thank you.

Beautiful playing! I will be learning this song soon and I will definitely be coming back to listen to this. Keep up the good work.

Maybe the second Grieg Lyric piece I discovered when I was a child? I'm quite sure I had a recording of Phillip Entremont playing this. A rare moment for me, that I remember listening to this piece many times when I was younger, but I don't remember it musically at all beyond the first few chords! It feels like a pianistically simplified Liszt Water Piece, and I'm sure Franz jumped for joy when he heard that penultimate chord 😂

Wow, it’s crazy to find out this isn’t how he would have played it.
