I just kept talking to the little kid like a concerned mom. I felt sorry for the poor clown, he was trying his best to scare you, but he got the hell beaten out of him by that child. I'll be honest, my heart was bumping, but the more I talked myself through it, trying to go with the flow, the more tolerable it was.
