Best cheap 7 seater in Australia? Mahindra XUV700 2023 review

Показать описание
The 2023 Mahindra XUV700 - made in India - might be the seven-seater family SUV bargain of the decade.

This new model is a budget-focused family crossover, with a standard seven seater layout, a long warranty, a punchy turbo engine, and a heap of standard technology and equipment.

If you’re looking at a 7 seater at this price point you might also be considering a five-year-old Toyota Kluger / Highlander, or maybe a Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-8 or CX-9, Nissan X-Trail or Mitsubishi Outlander, or the LDV D90.

There are so many alternatives at this price point that the Mahindra XUV7OO needs to be good, not only at being affordable, but at offering value for money and decent driving dynamics, too.

OK. Watch the video, then let me know if you'd roll the dice on this one!

These are actually a lot better than virtually all of the Chinese offerings . Quality is very good, it's a decent drive, but a little thirsty . But for anyone looking for a great vehicle, the Mahindra more or less nails it.

Mahindra makes a good car. They will last. Australian dealers don't like anything that can be sold at a good price. They got used to ripping you off for something 3 times the price! Good luck Mahindra!

Don't say cheap. It doesn't do this car justice. It's just superb. I took one for a spin today and I was amazed. Got to try it to know.

A diesel with AWD will also be coming soon. Reports also indicate that there will be a choice of a black interior.

Great review that shows an impressive vehicle, a well equipped vehicle that appears to offer value for money, it appears well engineered, and the warranty is excellent. Thanks for a fair and well presented review. Mahindra looks and sounds like a genuine and probably wise alternative for anyone looking for this kind of vehicle.

The waiting period of this car is more than a year in our India and Mahindra is selling it globally.

Please don't call it cause the brand has a lot of dignity and respect from it's roots in the build quality is top notch compared to the so called Chinese tin you can either refer to it as affordable or value for money in your country. It's on the premium price in our country.

Great value. The last one you reviewed was not competitive to my view, but this one will sell like hell.
AISAN brand assures the reliability, good tech and 7 years guarantee… the only thing worrying me is what would be the car after a couple years. I had 2008 Hyundai Santafe and after 2 years, it became quite rattly and noisy.

I owe a top spec AX7 diesel luxury same colour, manual 6 speed, and I tell you it's a beast 450 nm of torque, I owe a Ford endeavour, but no techs in it, I usually bdrive this to hospital as I am intensive care doctor, even long rotes 400 plus km, but In hills it's a real gem, I mean it try in hills, it will bale a beast, thank you for your nice review

In dealers now . First stocks arrived around the last wk of may & dealers started getting them not long after . Its another impressive vehicle. But at this stage Mahindra are coy about how many of these that they will sell. Mainly because it's in petrol FWD only initially at least . They are looking at & hoping to add diesel AWD variants possibly in under 12 months

Hey Matt, good review. I’ve ordered one in Adelaide, awaiting delivery. You reckon the car requires PPF, especially the black colour? The sales team was quite insistent on it.

I like how you have shown the other cars in this segment and their prices for comparison.

It's not Chinese, and it's not a CVT. Two huge positives right there. It looks OK, the interior is very nice, the screens are Euro class crisp and clear, far better than Ford Ranger's kaliedescope blurry colours. It's quite heavy at over 1800kg, so the fuel use at 8.6 on test is quite acceptable for a punchy 2.0 turbo with 380nm - especially on crap 91 fuel. It would probably love some 98.

Will wait for the diesel AWD variant. I wonder where the service stations are in Sydney.

11:50 The steering has different levels of outputs coz the car has 3 modes ZIP, ZAP and ZOOM. Try with them and drive however you like! Good video tho!
