Ngl I was a little skeptical at first with the excuse of “Travel is boring because you’re game is boring” but nah, there is so much to find and so many random encounters the make the game incredibly fun.

People really do cry about any and everything in games. The world feels alive, and traveling is enjoyable. Not to mention traveling and fighting is the only way you're maxing vocations, making money, etc. The world isn't even that big to require mounts, and the fast travel system isn't bad, it makes you contemplate if you really need to fast travel, or to save it for a time where you're fucked up after a drake fight and need to return somewhere safe right away. Game is good, people just love to complain.

The way this game has you to prepare before you go on an adventure makes it so unique and amazing, I love this mechanic, I really hope future open world games are gonna use it more.

No fast travel no problem you have a dope ass dragon that you ride and comes to you on your command. That’s how you make the game fun. Still a fun game but that would’ve helped major

Any time you feel like you need a horse you can just use a ferrystone. Traveling by foot is only as boring as you make it, select a different vocation and rank it up along the way

Rdr2 has horses you can ride…the world is huge and full to the brim with random shit you can find (more so than DD2 could DREAM of having) yet the horses don’t detract from traveling the world in the slightest…weird how that works.

I feel the plethora of dungeons and verticality compensates for the lack of mounts. And the travel options too ofc.

Early game you're traveling such small distances, oxcarts will get you the most places you're trying to go, and if it can't- it'll probably a new area youll want to explore thoroughly anyway.

Mid game game, oxcarts aside, you'll have a few portcrystals around that will greatly improve your travel functionality, especially if you plan things well.

Late game... you'll have portcrystals everywhere you'd want them to be, and have a near endless supply of ferrystones so you basically just fast travel wherever you want to go.

In summary, I have 0 complaints about mounts or fast travel or getting places in general.

I have 10 hours into the game and there being no mounts isn’t that bad. You can take the ox carts to places as a sort of fast travel option but there is almost a guarantee that you will run into some monsters so it will stop the fast travel till you have killed them and then you can continue. I’m not against them adding mounts but it also doesn’t ruin the game.

Just hop on that carriage, you can pay full price to hop on at any point in their travels. And if you follow the main road you'll eventually find one.

It is tho. People hating on this game should find something else to do. This game is so good, I cannot put it down. I love rpgs and this is one of the good ones. People are to used to easy spoon feeding games, they aren’t ready for an actual challenge anymore.
