The Mustang's reputation is a product of it's affordability and a general lack of driving skills of the average owner. Lots of power plus no skills equals Mustangs on sidewalks.

I commend both Ford and Chevrolet for making such awesome cars. For a long time, American cars had a reputation for only being fast in a straight line. Now, they compete and beat European and Japanese rivals. The lap speeds of the Dark Horse and the Z06 are simply amazing, especially for their weight.
