Please could you pass this message on to Pat Dixon:

Thank you so much for this wonderful video! This afternoon we will take your advice and my daughter will write out her Multiplication Square. What a relief to know that children are allowed to create this Multiplication Square for their maths exam.

My daughter begged me to Home Educate her! She hated maths in school because children are forced to say their times tables in front of the whole class and of course those that struggle get laughed at. Trying to keep up with the other children with maths, reading and writing etc caused her great anxiety issues. She now has a wonderful letter from Prince William about her singing stories. And has created a few maths games. To think a year ago she hated reading and now loves books more than toys. I am so proud of her. Like you say, children just need time and understanding! Thank you so much, your video is a true inspiration and help to all children that struggle in school. Maybe one day you will contact us and together we can help change our Education System to be more child friendly!

When I was at school  the teacher did one example on the black board then  the next was done by asking kids to chip in,  Then there would be ten examples, If you didn't get it you were classed as thick lazy stupid etc, ( if you didn't understand it after this you were told you weren't listening etc )These had to be done in a big rush for some reason ? ( could never work out why ), .Then the teacher would write the answers in and ask who got ten out of ten !, down to five, If you got less than five you were in big shit and called names, And the other kids were encouraged to make fun of you .I had dyscalculia then but no one really bothered whether you learnt any thing or not !. ( I got sick of hearing about learning the times tables, I couldn't remember them ).You just had to cop the abuse !, I got to the stage where I hated arithmetic and school .in secondary modern school, I soon learned which knobs to twiddle to get kicked out and stand in the hallway .I got to read a lot of books that way as I had one stashed in the lining of my blazer all the time One other thing ?, There  is no harbour in Canberra Australia, It is land locked and has a man made lake !. LoL
