Lunch & Learn - HIPAA Reproductive Health Care Rules: What You Need to Know

This presentation will focus on HIPAA’s Reproductive Health Care Rules and how they impact the disclosure and use of protected health information. With a compliance date of December 23, 2024 all health care providers including, covered entities and business associates, need to understand the complex process in determining whether reproductive health care can be released with a focus on the release of information to law enforcement, health oversight agencies, judicial and administrative bodies, and coroners. This will include a review of the new attestation requirements, how patient authorizations can be utilized, the impact of mandatory reporting and public health reporting laws, and considerations for updating policies and procedures.
