@wakkaman666 There's actually a part in the game where you get out of the castle (at least a little bit. You have to jump from window ledge to window ledge to get to the next room) and you can see/hear something out in the woods. It comes at you rapidly and if you don't get back inside in time you die a gruesome death. So if Daniel tried to get out of the castle, the Shadow would kill him immediatly. So the castle is keeping you safe pretty much.

I love Amnesia. It isn't just a game; it's an experience. The sense of loneliness, helplessness and the fear of whatever's lurking around the corner... I had to sleep with the light on at night after playing this game.

This is a true story.
I showed my sister this game. The lights were down, it was already midnight, the only thing on was her laptop and a fan. She watched this video and the next one, finished it, looked at me, and went "this isn't scary."

could anyone help me? when i start my Amnesia its all black just the words Anmesia and the start show up and when i click start the screen go black i can still here the noises and i got so far that i got a mommento but its all black and i cant see anything help pleases?
